End Carriage
End carriages are designed to distribute the weight of the crane and the loads it carries evenly across the runway beams. They help to ensure smooth and controlled movement of the crane along the runway, allowing for precise positioning of the crane and efficient material handling.
In addition to supporting the wheels, end carriages may also include other components such as motorized drive systems, brakes, and limit switches. Motorized drive systems, such as geared motors or inverter-controlled motors, provide the power for the crane’s horizontal movement. Brakes are used to stop and hold the crane in position, while limit switches help to control the travel limits of the crane and prevent overtravel.
